Under the Directorate of Extension, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, two Associate Directors of Extension, one at head quarter Dharwad another at Vijayapur are functioning. Under Associate Director of Extension (head quarter Dharwad) purview three Krishi Vigyan Kendras (Dharwad, Hanumanammti and Uttara Kannada (Sirsi)) and three Agricultural Extension Education Centres (Kumta, Belavatagi, Sankeshwar) are functioning covering four districts (Belagavi, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, and Haveri). Whereas, Associate Director of Extension Vijayapur covers three Krishi Vigyan Kendras (Vijayapur-I, Vijayapur-II and Bagalkote) and two Agricultural Extension Education Centres (Mudhol and Vijaypur) and covers three districts (Gadag, Bagalkote and Vijayapur).

       The two Associate Directors of Extension are in constant touch with the Agriculture Department of their respective district, and providing agriculture advice to the officers at different levels in the Department and also suggest solutions to field problems. Bi-monthly workshops are arranged for every two months with the Joint Director of Agriculture of the respective district to get feedback regarding field situation, field problems and provide solution to the agricultural officers of all the taluks of the district with the help of a team of scientists of UAS, Dharwad and also educate about modern agricultural technologies to be carriedout during next two months to attain higher productivity on sustainable basis.
