University Library

Library system at UAS, Dharwad mainly comprises four teaching campus libraries (viz. Dharwad, Vijaypur, Hanumanmatti and Sirsi) and other satellite/micro libraries spread across many sub centers like diploma centers, faculty departments, research stations and extension centers. By virtue of University Library being located at head quarter, it is the lead center for all technical activities of libraries and has rich collection of scientific literature to serve the academic and scientific communities in and around Northern Karnataka region.

With the advent of Internet and Communication Technologies (ICT) the scientific knowledge is being pushed to the stakeholders at their location itself and this modern VIRTUAL LIBRARY concept is having unique digital advantages like availability of literature round the clock, access to literature across the walls and locations, soft copies, etc. Library system has adopted modern digital technologies like CeRA, Krishikosh, IDEAL, ILMS, library automation, web-OPAC, electronic publications of the University, consortia, on-line literature search to books, journals, theses and databases, WIFI, Internet, power generator etc. to extend better services. As the University has collaboration with many National and International Institutes / Organizations the library concerned scientific literature and knowledge is also getting exchanged and elevated periodically to conduct world class experiments.
